Moving in West Knoxville
West Knoxville is several kinds of move sharing the same roads. Apartments and townhomes toward Walker Springs and Bearden. Mid-century ranches and split-levels in West Hills. Newer subdivisions past Pellissippi Parkway into Hardin Valley. Homes along Northshore Drive toward the lake. We cover that ground with our own background-checked crews and our own 16- and 26-foot trucks, and we size the day to the stairs, the driveway, and Kingston Pike traffic — not to a one-size checklist.
Cedar Bluff and Walker Springs
Cedar Bluff Road meets I-40 at exit 378. Around it: apartment complexes, townhomes, and office parks, with more of the same toward Walker Springs and Gallaher View (exit 379). Tell us the floor, whether there's an elevator, and where the truck can sit without blocking the fire lane — those details aren't always on the work order, so we plan them with you. If a leasing office wants a certificate of insurance before move-in, we can usually send one the same day. Moving between two complexes a few minutes apart is common on this corridor. We don't move on Sundays.
West Hills, Bearden and the older neighborhoods
Closer in, West Hills and Bearden still hold a lot of 1950s–1970s brick ranches, split-levels, and basement houses on sloped lots. Tight drives and streets are common — tell us where a truck can park at both ends before moving day. If the street or the drive is tight, we send our 16-foot truck with a ramp (no liftgate), alone or paired with a 26 so the crew can work close to the door. Beds come apart and go back together; furniture gets blankets and shrink wrap as part of a local move — say so on the walk-through if anything needs extra care.
Northshore Drive and lake lots
Northshore Drive runs southwest from Bearden toward Rocky Hill and the Fort Loudoun Lake shoreline. Lake-side houses along the corridor are often built down a slope, with a walk-out lower level — tell us about the grade, how many levels are furnished, and whether the drive can hold a truck so we size the crew before the day. We pad and wrap for the carry; we don't assume a flat lot.
Karns and Hardin Valley
North of Cedar Bluff, Oak Ridge Highway (SR 62) runs out to Karns; Hardin Valley Road runs west past Pellissippi State's main campus. Many of the neighborhoods out here are newer, and many have an HOA. If your HOA wants a certificate of insurance for the truck, send us the requirement and we can usually get it to them the same day. Karns still mixes older homes on bigger lots with newer builds, and some homes sit back off the highway. Steep, narrow, or gravel drives anywhere on this ridge: tell us when you call so we can put the 16-foot truck on the job, alone or with a 26. For the town of Farragut proper (Campbell Station Road / Concord side), use the Farragut movers page — this section is the Karns–Hardin Valley ridge, not a second Farragut write-up.
Out to Turkey Creek and the Farragut line
Past Lovell Road and Pellissippi Parkway, West Knoxville runs into Farragut. Subdivisions out here are newer and often two stories, and many have HOA truck rules — check parking, stay time, and move hours before the day. Turkey Creek shopping traffic backs up Parkside Drive and Lovell Road on weekends, so a morning start helps the crew get in and out without sitting in the loop. Moving inside Farragut town limits? Getting around the west side
I-40 and I-75 run together across West Knoxville, with exits at Papermill (383), West Hills (380), Walker Springs / Gallaher View (379), Cedar Bluff (378), Pellissippi Parkway (376), Lovell Road (374), and Campbell Station Road (373). Kingston Pike is the surface road from Bearden out to Farragut; it's slow at rush hour and around West Town Mall. Pellissippi Parkway heads north toward Hardin Valley and Oak Ridge and south toward Maryville. Local moves across this side of town stay on these roads; longer hauls use the interstate spines.

Frequently asked questions
Do you move into apartment complexes off Cedar Bluff Road (I-40 exit 378)?
Yes. Complexes off Cedar Bluff and toward Walker Springs often mean a tight assigned parking spot and a leasing office that wants paperwork before the truck arrives. Tell us the building, the floor, and whether there's an elevator or outdoor stairs, and where the truck can sit without blocking the fire lane. If they ask for a certificate of insurance, we can usually send it the same day.
Can you get a truck down a tight West Hills or Bearden driveway?
Usually. If the drive or the street is tight, we send our 16-foot truck with a ramp (no liftgate), alone or with a 26-footer.
My HOA out toward Turkey Creek or the Farragut line has move rules. Is that a problem?
No. Tell us the parking, stay-time, and hour rules when you book and we'll work inside them. If they need a COI, we can usually send it the same day.
Do you move from West Knoxville to other states?
Yes. You get a flat written estimate after a free phone or in-home walk-through, and the same crew that loads your truck delivers it. Destinations we've run include North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Alabama, and Connecticut.
