Knoxville movers for homes, apartments and offices
From a studio near campus to a four-bedroom out in Hardin Valley, we move Knoxville homes with our own background-checked crew and our own trucks. No subcontractors. Furniture gets wrapped, beds come apart and go back together, and everything lands in the room you pick. Leaving Tennessee? You get a flat written price, and the crew that loads your truck delivers it.
Apartments, campus and downtown
In Knoxville, lots of moves are apartments near the University of Tennessee, in Fort Sanders, and in lofts and high-rises downtown and in the Old City. That usually means an elevator to reserve, a loading zone, tight street parking, and a building that wants a certificate of insurance. Send us your building's requirements and we can usually get the certificate to them the same day.
Student move-in and move-out weeks around campus get busy, so book early. More on apartment moves in Knoxville.
Timing a Knoxville move
- Game days. On home football Saturdays the roads around campus and downtown fill up fast. If you can, pick another day.
- Rush hour. I-40 and I-75 run together across West Knoxville, and Kingston Pike, Alcoa Highway and Pellissippi Parkway back up at rush hour. A morning start helps on a west-side move.
- End of the month. Leases turn over at the end of the month and in summer. Book about 4 to 6 weeks out if you can.
- Arrival. You'll get an arrival window, and the crew calls when they're on the way.
Where we move around Knoxville
Knoxville isn't one kind of move. Here's where we work around town — details live on each area page.
- West Knoxville — Apartments toward Walker Springs and Bearden, older homes in West Hills, Northshore lake lots, and Hardin Valley subdivisions. West Knoxville movers.
- North Knoxville — Fountain City's older hills, Halls along Maynardville Pike, and Powell at Emory Road / I-75. North Knoxville movers.
- Farragut — HOA subdivisions and lake homes on the west end of Knox County. Farragut movers.
- South Knoxville — Hills along Chapman Highway and near the Urban Wilderness; our Knoxville office is here.
- Downtown, the Old City, and Fort Sanders — Lofts, high-rises, and campus walk-ups; elevators and insurance certificates are common.
- Nearby towns — Oak Ridge, Maryville, and Lenoir City each have their own page.

We'll estimate by phone or with an in-home walk-through. A smaller move is billed by the hour; when we quote the whole job, it's a flat rate in writing.
- We wrap, load and place it
Furniture gets wrapped, loaded on our truck, and placed where you want it. No deposit: you pay when unloading is finished.

What can't go on the truck
Flammables, hazardous chemicals, weapons, live plants and perishable food can't go on our trucks. That means the propane tank, paint thinner and houseplants travel another way. Not sure about something? Ask when you get your quote.

Frequently asked questions
Do you move homes in West Knoxville, Bearden, Karns, Hardin Valley and Powell?
Yes. We move homes all over Knox County, from Powell and Halls to Hardin Valley, Karns, Bearden and South Knox. Tell us about the stairs, the driveway and the parking at both ends.
Do you move apartments near UT?
Yes. Tell us about the elevator, the loading area and move-in rules at both buildings. We can usually send a certificate of insurance the same day.
My HOA has rules about moving trucks. Can you work with that?
Yes. Send us the rules when you book, like where the truck can park and what hours you can move. If the HOA wants a certificate of insurance, just ask.
Should I avoid moving on a UT game day?
If you can. Roads near campus and downtown fill up on home football Saturdays. If that's your only day, tell us and we'll plan around it.
Do you move offices in Knoxville?
Yes, and we can invoice your business. See office and commercial movers in Knoxville.
Do you move people out of Knoxville to other states?
Yes. We've moved families from East Tennessee to North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Alabama and Connecticut, and we go to Georgia, Florida and Texas too. See out-of-state movers.
How far ahead should I book a Knoxville move?
About 4 to 6 weeks, especially for summer, weekends and the end of the month. Short notice? Call anyway.
Are my things protected during the move?
Yes. We're licensed and insured, and furniture is blanket-wrapped before it goes on the truck. On interstate moves, ask us about full-value protection.
What's the difference between a local and a long-distance move?
A smaller move is billed by the hour; when we quote the whole job, it's a flat rate in writing. On long-distance moves, the same crew that loads your truck delivers it. See long-distance moving.
How much does a move from Knoxville cost?
It depends on what's going, how far, the stairs and parking at both ends, and whether we pack. We'll quote it free by phone or with a walk-through. See how our estimates work.
