Moving in North Knoxville
North Knoxville runs out from the city along long ridges and the valleys between them. Fountain City sits just over Sharps Ridge. Halls spreads along Maynardville Pike. Powell follows Emory Road and Beaver Creek out toward I-75. We move homes in all three with our own background-checked crews and trucks.
Fountain City
Fountain City grew up around the park and lake at its center. A lot of its housing is older: bungalows, cottages, and brick houses on hilly, curving streets off Broadway. That can mean steep front steps, narrow doorways, and tight stairs to a second floor or basement. Streets are often narrow — tell us where a truck can park without blocking a neighbor's drive. Local moves include blankets, shrink wrap, mattress covers, and bed disassembly/reassembly.
Halls
Halls is ranch homes and subdivisions along Maynardville Pike (SR 33) and Emory Road, with newer neighborhoods filling the valleys and more rural lots toward the Union County line. Tell us about the driveway and where the truck can sit. If the drive is steep or narrow, we bring the 16-foot truck.
Powell
Powell sits along Emory Road (SR 131), Clinton Highway (US 25W), and Beaver Creek, with I-75 at exit 112. It’s a mix of older homes near the old Powell Station area and lots of newer subdivisions on the hills around it. TDOT is rebuilding that interchange as a diverging diamond, with construction expected through about 2028 — allow extra time getting on and off I-75 when you plan the morning. Tell us about the driveway and parking so we send the right truck.
Getting in and out of North Knoxville
I-75 north from I-640 to Powell (exit 112) and on toward Clinton. I-640 loops the north side of the city and ties I-75 to I-40. Broadway (US 441) runs from downtown through Fountain City toward Halls. Clinton Highway (US 25W) and Emory Road connect Powell toward Karns and Halls. Cross-town moves to West Knoxville usually ride I-640 / I-40 rather than surface roads through downtown.

Frequently asked questions
Do you move older Fountain City homes with steep steps?
Yes. Tell us about the front steps, the inside stairs, and the parking, and we'll send the right crew and truck mix.
Will getting on I-75 at Emory Road slow down my Powell move?
It can add time depending on what's open that day. We plan the route around the interchange; tell us your preferred start window when you book.
My Halls house has a long or tricky driveway. Can your truck make it?
Usually. Tell us about the drive and we'll send the 16-foot truck if needed.
Do you move from North Knoxville to other parts of Tennessee?
Yes. Moves elsewhere in Tennessee get a flat written estimate, binding once you accept it unless you add services.
